YOUTH EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AND PLACEMENT PROGRAM

 

The purpose of the Youth Employment Services (Y.E.S.) Program is to provide deserving youth meaningful summer employment that will help them begin their career exploration, enhance educational goals and provide them with competitive wages through on the job training. The YES program comprises two main components: Job Readiness Training and Job Shadowing/Work Experience.

 

Youth Job Readiness Training Students participate in job readiness training, which includes instructions and work place competencies, such as teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, and development of positive work ethic, employability and participative skills.

 

Youth Job Shadowing/Work Experience This is designed to provide students with a series of opportunities and experiences that will enable them to develop their skills at progressively higher levels. These experiences integrate work and learning and help develop an interest in a future career, provide meaningful work experience and assist students in making a clear connection from education process to the labor market.
